Window shopping #3
A five-star alpine wellness retreat, the playlist getting me through the week, and an airline that pays for rainy vacations
This is Window Shopping, a weekly mini-letter from Window Seat—your stylish scroll through what’s new, noteworthy, and next in the world of travel. Each issue blends timely headlines, personal favorites, and design-forward hotels to keep your wanderlust well-fed.
Americans are spending less on vacations; planning has reached an all-time low since 2021. Increased domestic and international airfare ($820 for domestic and $1,440 for international spring break flights), economic uncertainty, and inflation are all factors that have had a direct contribution. Some are exploring train travel as a more affordable alternative to help offset costs.
Has it ever rained throughout your entire vacation? Now, JetBlue will reimburse you if it does. In a new partnership with WeatherPromise, JetBlue has introduced a new benefit that reimburses you for vacations disrupted by ‘significant rainfall.’ The best part? You can get reimbursed without having to do any paperwork.
My wardrobe is really classic and minimal, so I rely on accessories to play up more basic pieces. Lately, I’ve been seeking out new-to-me jewelry brands and trying on different earrings with my outfits (instead of wearing the same earrings I have been wearing every single day for months—even though I love them!). The plan is to grow a small collection and display the pieces in this stunning jewelry box.

As a tall person with a long torso, short legs, and fluctuating weight, finding denim that fits properly feels like a lifelong mission. I had it all figured out until my body changed again a year ago, and now I find myself seeking new sizes and styles. If you read my first Window Shopping dispatch, you know I’m on the one-of-everything-really-good train, so I’m thinking of investing in the Khaite Danielle Jean and calling it a day. Chat, should I do it??
Also, If you are a Severance stan (hi can we talk about the new episode!!! Best yet, no?!) and a lover of lo-fi beats like me, you might enjoy listening to Music to Refine To—” An exclusive ODESZA set designed for eight hours of focus—perfect for your innie’s workday.” Please enjoy each beat equally.

El Fenn—Marrakech, Morocco
You know I love a design-forward hotel, and El Fenn delivers. This art-filled riad blends Moroccan craftsmanship with contemporary style and a bit of vibrant whimsy. But the interiors are only half of the stunning vistas here—you’ll also find lush courtyards and a rooftop offering breathtaking views of the Atlas Mountains. Beyond the incredible rooms, I’d be most excited to enjoy their three swimming pools, world-class hammam, and encouragement of slow living.
Naturhotel Forsthofgut—Leogang, Austria
If the photo above doesn’t convince you alone, I fear you may be subscribed to the wrong newsletter. Set against the dramatic backdrop of the Austrian Alps, this five-star eco-luxury resort is where wellness, luxury, and nature converge. What I love about this place is that it has something for everyone, whether you’re an adventure or leisure traveler. For the former, there’s direct access to ski slopes in the winter and hiking trails in the summer. But the real crown jewel is Europe’s first forest spa, where you’ll find outdoor pools, herbal saunas, and a lake spa that all seamlessly harmonize with the surrounding Alpine landscape.

I’m short and curvy and the jeans are a never ending failure 😢
El fenn has been on my wish list for years! I wondered - do you have somewhere you keep this list?
Music to Refine To is the gift I didn't know I needed today. Ha!
