Window shopping #42
Centennial liveries, hotel pajamas worth packing, and small apartment upgrades I'm obsessing over
This is Window Shopping, a weekly mini-letter from Window Seat—your stylish scroll through what’s new and noteworthy in the world of travel. Each issue blends timely headlines, personal favorites, and design-forward hotels to keep your wanderlust well-fed.
Another airline is marking a centennial moment. After Delta’s 100th anniversary last year, American Airlines is ushering in its own 100th year with centennial liveries, nostalgia-forward storytelling, and a renewed focus on the passenger experience. For travelers, milestones like this often translate into things like limited-time experiences and elevated onboard touches, reminding us that even legacy carriers are under pressure to feel modern and genuinely worth choosing again.
Luxury hotels are leaning into sleepwear as the new souvenir. Petite Plume just dropped a limited-edition pajama capsule with Viceroy Hotels & Resorts, and it feels like the natural next evolution of hotel merch. The color palette pulls from Viceroy’s most iconic destinations, from St. Lucia to Los Cabos, turning classic sleepwear into something that doubles as a souvenir. As someone who owns no less than five hotel robes at this point, this is the kind of thing I’d love to have.
I’ve had a lot of changes in my life as of late, so why not throw another right on top? In the next month, it’ll finally be time to move out of the apartment I’ve called home for the last five years, but the plot twist is that I’ll be downsizing from a two bedroom to a studio. I’m definitely going to miss having an actual room for my bed, but I’m actually super excited for this new chapter. I’ve been spending a lot of time thinking about the small apartment upgrades I want to make, all under the theme of “form just as good as function” (sue me, I’m just a girl). These are a few of the things currently on my list:
Board of Proof: Something I’m particularly excited about is more prominently displaying evidence of my wins. Right now, I have media credentials and other career ephemera haphazardly shoved into a keepsake box; I’d much rather those tokens serve as daily reminders of how far I’ve come and what’s possible.
Our Place Cookware: Solves my age-old dilemma of loving the look of stainless steel but hating the cleanup. Functional, unfussy, and looks great on my stovetop.
Evolve Together Hand wash: Forget Aesop—this is the new status hand soap I’ll have at my sinks. And IMO, it smells even better than it looks.
Fable Glassware: The thinner the glass, the better, but it’s got to be durable. Look no further.
Maxx Royal Bodrum — Bodrum, Turkey
Opened just last summer on Turkey’s Bodrum Peninsula, this hotel is a resort that fully understands the power of its setting. The property unfolds toward the Aegean in terraces of pale stone, cabana-lined beaches, and three sculptural pools that blur the line between architecture and landscape. The experience is as seamless as it is indulgent: every guest is assigned a 24/7 personal assistant, rooms use intelligent lighting systems that respond to your movements and sleep patterns, and transportation ranges from buggy pickups to helicopter tours over the peninsula. Accommodations begin at suites and only get more expansive, all with wraparound views, private balconies, and personalized fragrances, while the lagoon rooms add swim-out seawater pools. Add a fleet of Axopar water taxis and Mazu 52 superyachts for cruising the coast, and you have a stay that feels as fluid as the scenery itself.

LOVE the vibes going into the new apartment 🚀…. Aaaand may just have to indulge in the Petite Plume x Viceroy collab
I realise it’s absolutely none of my business, but I just wanted to say - I hope you’re okay, Tori!
Bodrum is meant to be so beautiful, that hotel sounds fantastic!
When I’m next at a nice enough hotel, I’m definitely gonna use your tip about the robe…!
