Window shopping #10
Caviar fries in Midtown, tequila in duty-free, and why I'm dreaming of a vacation to Mozambique
Welcome back to Window Shopping: a mini letter you can peruse at your leisure, filled with discoveries from the world of travel and beyond.
Checking in! Today’s send marks ten issues of Window Shopping, and I’d love to know: is this format feeling fun, useful, inspiring… all of the above? If you have a sec, would you mind answering the quick poll below? I’d really appreciate it.
This week in travel
Don Julio tapped Peggy Gou for its first global collab—and it’s launching where today’s travelers shop most: the airport. The partnership is set to show up prominently in airport duty-free spaces, with curated gifting and immersive retail rolling out globally. It’s part of a bigger trend of spirits brands investing in travel retail as a cultural touchpoint—not just a place to grab a bottle, but a place to tell a story.
Fora, a tech-forward travel agency platform, has secured a $60 million Series C. As travelers increasingly seek personalized experiences over generic itineraries, Fora's approach resonates with those craving human touch in their journeys. This investment underscores a broader trend: even in uncertain economic times, the demand for tailored, meaningful travel experiences remains strong.
As of late
If you’re looking for Friday night plans that feel like the epitome of casual luxury, look no further than the Park Hyatt New York. They’ve just launched a new partnership with Petrossian Caviar: you can order 30g of Royal Daurenki, thick-cut French fries, and a classic martini—for $149.
The hotel invited me out to try it for myself recently1, and let me tell you—there’s no better way to cap off a stressful workweek than enjoying caviar-covered French fries in a luxury hotel. Plus, Park Hyatt is my favorite hotel brand, so finally seeing the space in person was its own kind of treat. High marks all around. Book it for yourself here.
Hotel on my radar

Kisawa—Mozambique, Africa
Kisawa is one of those rare places that feels both wildly remote and meticulously considered. Set on Benguerra Island in Mozambique, it might as well be its own universe—where every detail is intentional, from the hand-woven thatched bungalows to the use of 3D-printed structures made from local sand. Each residence has its own private beach, pool, dedicated service team, and an electric Moke to cruise the island (equal parts charming and deeply luxurious). With rates hovering around $5–6K per night, it’s firmly in the dream category, but wow, what a dream it would be.
This visit was hosted by the hotel as part of a partnership but all opinions are my own.
